Contracts Revisited

Ok, we have a few topics that are ongoing but some rules and changes will upset other rules and changes so, to get things kinda cleared up we should discuss the total rules for contracts. The number we have and years are the same but who we can sign will change based on this topic. Some things to vote on

1. Signing only our draft picks
2. Signing only our draft picks that you have on your roster at the end of the season
3. Signing traded players, which opens the door to free agents and a bunch of other messes
4. official rules for trading/cutting signed players

rules put into place now will not take effect until May, meaning all signings must only be done to your draft picks from last year.

Now lets get it done. I think all other topics should be put on hold until this is done.

i think if you wanna keep them, then you shoulda kept them...so i vote number 2.

I think you should only be able to sign your draft picks. We can rule that you have to keep them on your roster all year in order to sign them. Also if that's the case I think an extra bench spot isn't a bad idea.

Pink Rabbits said...

I'll agree to that but I want the draft to stay with 15 players.

bench is already 6 deep...instead of players being wasted on the bench making the free agents slim pickings, why don't you move up the max amount of moves, so you can shuffle around your bench easier if you get struck by the injury bug.

p.s. not trying to be a pain in the ass...just trying to get all the kinks out.

yeah I know, we totally look like we're bitching at each other here. I think the tough topics are better handled by maybe tackling one a year or something. Changing to much could be a bad thing, let people get used to a couple for a season.

I vote for 1.

well i dunno, i think we can get most things taken care of this year.

QB down to one, i like...it makes since, better available back up QBs in case you have an injury.

Championship week 16 i think is just common sense.

Playoffs i will concede for this year, because i don't think we will get anymore votes for it. all i know is i hope i have a bad year and finish 8th then knock your #1 ass out of the first round of the playoffs.

Now contracts and then we just decide what to do with the extra spot. i don't think there is going to be much more than that.

contracts could be a pain though. i think we really should just vote by number and not say i'll vote this way only if such and such happens. just say #1,2,3, or 4. once we know which way contracts are going, then any other issues can be brought up.

also you should give voting like a 3-5 day run or something. most people are communicating on here but for those that are not, let them know that if they don't vote here it doesn't count. just to make it fair to everyone.

Is Woody not part of the league. And who made you in charge.

it's called brining an idea to the table, you damn commie. don't be afraid of a democracy...you have rights too.

How do you see it as an idea when you say it the way you did. It looks like you are tring to call the shots. If you have seen other leagues everyone votes not 5 or 6. This is not cool any more.

i'm not really sure what you are talking about...nick said the quaterback rule passed. everybody voted for week 16, i said i would concede my argument for playoffs this year beacuse i don't think anyone but dan, branden and myself want it right now.

everything else i said was "we should" do this or that. i never said we have to do it this way. just throwing out ideas trying to contribute.

also yes, eveyone has the right to vote but if they don't show up to vote then just like in real life they should forfeit. nick clearly sent out an email saying to go to the blog and vote on the issues. you can't leave issues up forever waiting for everyone to come and vote.

so again, i have no idea what you are talking about. this is like owners meeting time, nick is the commish but he is also an owner...so right now it's democracy time, once the season starts and the rules are set then doom reigns supreme. that was always my understanding.

To quote what you said "let them know that if they don't vote here it doesn't count"
Woody is showing up to vote, but rather than on this blog he is doing it thru Nick's email, I really don't see what the difference is.

Correct me I am wrong but there are people who are not voting like Steve and Amy. So not everyone is voting.

kevin said...

i said that they should have to be here to vote, so we can all see the votes. what is the harm in that? that way, not that i think nick would tip a vote in his favor, but it also would never be questioned. so nobody could ever complain down the road about the voting process. just trying to solve problem before they arise. and again these are just all ideas, sorry if i don't put "in my personal opinion" in front of everything i type.

so like i said before, i am not trying to be a pain, just trying to contribute.

Ok, so a ton has been said since I last looked A FEW HOURS AGO!! crazy in here. Schaef you're contributing a ton, I don't think that's in question. Also Joe you're taking stuff to personal, he didn't come out and say those votes don't count, he was more saying he wishes the votes were here and posted in person, which would be nice but I know what's going on with woody and so do you, Schaef doesn't, so it's not his fault for wanting that.

And for the record, I've would never lie about stuff like votes, I want nothing more then to have a clean and fair contest every year.

This is the first real time we have all been on here and starting voting on stuff so we have to understand that no one should be getting "pissed", "upset", "angry" etc.... thats just stupid, we're here because we want so see what we all can get done. Fo Serious

kevin said...

i agree...and that vote thing was just i thought it would fair if all votes were accounted for on the blog, that's all.

Nick your wrong read what he wrote, tell them if they don't vote here it don't count tell me what that means. It dosen't sound like a suggestion to me. And if you knew about Woody's deal than why did you even make a comment about you wishing he would be on here to, that also started somethings. It's not stupid to stand up for what you think you do it all the time. To say i'm pissed is not ture i'm making statements like Shaf has made, he also is standing up for what he thinks is right . That I think is cool, a little debate is good for a person well I think its fun. Either way lets finish this Shit and get back to what matters voting.

Pink Rabbits said...

thats you taken it to serious. You got all defensive about it and were acting like we decided Woodys vote doesn't count. Which of course isn't the case. Would I like to see Woody vote on here? HELL YEAH, I have every right to say that. Your "this is not cool anymore" talk seemed like you're ready to go at it, which is over doing it. Woodys vote was posted and counted and will continue to count. It's text man, everything sounds bad in text unless you know who's saying it,so unless you have anything more to say about it I would love to move on.

I approve the above message.

I know Woody, even played some good football games with him. He's a great guy and wouldn't do harm to a fly. This is why I believe Joe got alittle upset over the small talk of not counting his votes. It was read into to alittle to much and everything should be fine in regards to it. Woody is a league member as we all are and there was never a chance his votes wouldn't count. End of Topic
