So of course you knew or should've known that something would be on here about Favre. Once a great Qb and a solid fantasy starter, your thoughts would be of hall of fame, superbowls and broken records. Favre also was a player that you could look at and say "man its nice to see someone enjoying the game like him". That was 3 years ago or maybe even 4, these days Favre is all about thinking he is management and telling the coaches they don't know what the hell they are doing. At what point did Favre stop being a player and turn into a coach, owner, gm, etc. oh thats right that never happened!! go back to being a player everyone wishes you would, if not then retire already. All he is adding to the game is how the fans think of him when his name is mentioned. His fantasy numbers for last year in passing was 129 pts, with tds it was 183 (3800 yds and 18 tds) which like Grossman isn't bad, also like Grossman, Favre has another side to his game. His fumbles and ints were -52pts (18 ints and 8 fumbles) making his fantasy points around 131 (remember Brees had around 200pts with mistakes) Favre is another gamble on Qb and since the Packers have not changed much his numbers might be right around the same this year. I hope that gives you something to think about.

to be fair, favre was asked in in an interview what he thought about the packers not pickinng up moss, and he gave an honset opinion. this was like a month after the draft. it's not like he just called his own press conference to complain. it's like you can't say anything cause the media goes crazy with it. this isn't like T.O. doing sit ups in his drive way looking for attention.
the packers offense is very mediocre. they don't have one running back with a 1 year experience as a starter, there wide receivers, while ok, aren't that special as a group. they won their last 4 games last year because their defense came together and played great. so logic would tell you to add a little to the offense, but they didn't. so favre was pissed, so are most of the fans. they have an 8-8 team and they don't do anything to try to get better. i mean what are they waiting for, the aaron rodgers era.
that being said, i don't care if favre retires or keeps on playing a couple more years. is he still in an mvp quarterback? no, but the packers don't have a better one, and neither does half of the nfl. not everyone can go out like john elway. especially when your front office doesn't even try to put a quality team together.
never thought I'd be hearing that much out of you Schaef. I guess it touched a nerve or something else, lol
i hate sports media, everything is over analyzed 7 days a week 24hrs a day, and when they don't have a story they take something little and blow it up.
Well I agree with that, but over the past few seasons Favre has been such a baby about his retiring and everything, he doesn't seem to really have fun anymore either. I wonder if he is going to be another Vinny and play for 20+ seasons
All the retirement talk is brought up by the media, not Brett. He has to be having fun or he would not be playing. There is no way he is going to win a super bowl so what else could he be playing for. No body can be another Vinny that boy won't ever retire.
